Education News
Assalaam Alaikum from the Education team. We start by thanking and praising Allah (swt) and sending peace and blessings on his noble messenger Muhammad (saw). The aim of the Education section at KCL is to provide educational facilities to all the KCL members in accordance with the aims and objectives of the articles of the constitution, i.e. to promote Education in line with the Sha’fee madhab. To this end we currently provide the following facilities:
Children’s Madressa:
Separate boys and girls classes for children aged 5+. Here the children learn not only Quran recitation but also Arabic language and Hadith from the designated teachers.The timings of these classes are as follows:
Friday 17.30 to 19.30, Saturday 10.00 to 12.00 and Sunday 10.00 to 12.00 Note: timings during Ramadhan will vary.Mens and ladies Arabic language classes:
Teaching the fundamentals of the Arabic language. These take place on Friday evenings from 6.00 – 7.00 pm at the KCL centre.
Ladies Qur’anic Tajweed Classes:
Learn to read the Qur’an in line with science of Tajweed (correct pronunciation). These also take place at the KCL Centre on Monday Evenings between 6.00pm and 7.00 pm.
Other activities:
We plan to provide general monthly Islamic circles for men and ladies on a range of topics so look out for future announcements.
GCSE Tuition for children aged 14-16 in preparation for their upcoming exams in the following topics, Mathematics, English and Science. These will take place on Saturday afternoons in May for a period of 5 weeks in the lead up to exam season.
Trips and excursions: Dependant on interest from the community we hope to provide occasional excursions in line with our objectives.
